Achilles Kameas
Dr. Eng. Achilles D. Kameas is Professor of Pervasive Computing Systems at HOU. He is Vice-President of the Board of HOU Lifelong Learning Center and Member of the Deanery of the Faculty of Science & Technology, of the HOU Gender Equality and Inclusion Committee and of the HOU Technical Council. At international level, Achilles is member of the Executive Board and Leader of WP3 “Widening participation of under-represented groups in Higher Education and Lifelong Learning” of the OpenEU European University Alliance. His current research interests include digital and green skills, technology enhanced learning, STE(A)M education, smart environments, inclusion and equality. He is the scientific coordinator of ETHICAI project.
Ioanna Marini
Ms Ioanna Marini is a Project Manager at HOU´s DAISSy Research Group. She holds a degree from the Department of Financial and Management Engineering of the University of the Aegean (2007) and a Master’s degree from the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras, specializing in Project Management, Transportation, and Spatial Planning. She has extensive experience in the management and implementation of European-funded projects, having participated in more than 35 EU-funded initiatives. Her expertise includes project management, financial monitoring, and administrative coordination, supporting the efficient delivery of complex projects. She has contributed to the organization, reporting, and financial administration of projects, ensuring compliance with EU requirements.

Alessandra Antonaci
Alessandra serves as Deputy Coordinator of the ETHICAI project and leads the Quality Assurance, Communication, and Dissemination activities. With expertise in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication, she contributes to the successful implementation and visibility of EU-funded initiatives. Their experience includes quality assurance processes, dissemination strategies, community building, and collaboration across international and multidisciplinary teams. They are particularly interested in fostering ethical and innovative approaches to artificial intelligence, supporting impactful research outcomes, and promoting sustainable knowledge exchange within higher education and digital transformation initiatives.
Stefan Meuleman
Stefan Meuleman holds a Master of Science in Arts & Culture from Maastricht University and brings expertise in event leadership, communication, and project management. He is involved in the quality assurance of the ETHICAI project and contributes to the coordination of EADTU’s academic services, Special Interest Groups, Task Forces, and flagship events.

Diogo Casanova
Diogo Casanova is Vice-Rector for Innovation, Quality and Digital Transformation at Universidade Aberta (UAb) and Assistant Professor in Distance Education. His work focuses on digital education, pedagogical innovation, quality assurance, and the strategic transformation of higher education institutions. He has held academic and leadership positions in the UK and Portugal, including at Kingston University London and the University of West London, where he led large-scale digital and pedagogical transformation initiatives. He has coordinated and participated in numerous international projects on online learning, microcredentials, and digital infrastructures, contributing to policy development and innovation in higher education at both national and European levels.
Pedro Abrantes
Pedro Abrantes is a graduate and PhD in Sociology, specialising in education, social inequalities, and life pathways. He is a Professor at Universidade Aberta, where he coordinates the Observatory of Graduates and is member of LE@D – Laboratory of Distance Education and E-Learning. He is also a guest professor at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and Vice-President of the Portuguese Sociological Association. He has been a visiting researcher at CIESAS (Mexico), a member of the Minister of Education Cabinet and Deputy-Director of the DG Education and Science Statistics in Portugal.

Selimi Glykeria
Glykeria Selimi is an English language teacher and Consultant with the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) in Greece, holding a PhD IN English Studies. As a member of IEP, her role in ETHICAI is to support the dissemination and communication of its outcomes by leveraging the Institute’s high-traffic website, social media channels, and access to national Communities of Practice (CoPs), thereby reaching educators and policy stakeholders across Greece. IEP also brings regulatory knowledge and system-level networking capacity, facilitating the alignment of project outcomes with national and EU educational strategies.
Theodora Tziampazi
Theodora S. Tziampazi is currently a Consultant at the Hellenic Institute of Educational Policy and the Coordinator of its Educational Innovation Unit. A multi-award-winning educator, she has delivered teacher trainings on AI, STEM, and digital education, and has contributed to European Commission publications within the context the Digital Education Action Plan. As a member of a public education authority, which is a partner in the ETHICAI project, she will share initiatives and examples of GenAI experimentation in teacher training. Her role involves providing feedback on policy analysis, ensuring alignment with national strategies, reviewing and validating deliverables, disseminating findings, and co-creating strategic recommendations.

Bhoomika Agarwal
Bhoomika Agarwal is a PhD candidate at the ECO-lab of the Open University of the Netherlands. Her PhD aims to create an Ethical Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Education. Hailing from a background in computer science but currently working at the intersection of AI, ethics and educational technology, she aims to bring a unique multidisciplinary perspective to her work and this research. Besides her PhD, she likes to dabble in coding, poetry, origami and reading books.
Roland Klemke
Prof. Dr. Roland Klemke is professor for Technology-enhanced Learning and Innovation at the Research and Innovation Center for Open Distance Education (ECO-lab) of the OUNL. He leads national and international research projects in the TEL field. Roland also holds a professorship for game informatics at the Cologne Game Lab, TH Köln, where he teaches and researches subjects like artificial intelligence, game engine architectures, game development methodologies, game physics, and serious games. Additionally, he is CEO of Humance AG, a Cologne based software development company specialized in mobile and web-based solutions, coordinating research and development activities. Roland is member of Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI), fellow of the Interuniversity Center for Educational Sciences (ICO) and fellow of the Dutch research school information and knowledge systems (SIKS).

Frederik Truyen
Frederik Truyen is professor of Cultural Studies and Digital Humanities at the Faculty of Arts of KU Leuven, where he coordinates the innovation action group DigitGLAM. His work focuses on digital innovation in Humanities education. He has contributed to e-learning and MOOC development at the university. Current research involves the use of XAI tools for metadata improvement. In EthicAI, Fred Truyen will liaise with institutional policies and innovation roadmaps on microcedentials and AI at KU Leuven, contributing to the evidence repository of the project.
Zoë Vandenhende
Zoë Vandenhende is a scientific collaborator at KU Leuven (Cultural Studies Research Group, DigitGLAM), with a background in human rights, visual culture, and intercultural heritage. Her work focuses on participatory and inclusive approaches to digital heritage, with experience on various projects aimed at improving accessibility and representation in (digital) cultural heritage practices. Within ETHICAI, KU Leuven leads content development for the evidence repository and toolkit, gathering and refining use cases and policy and curriculum templates to help educators and institutions integrate generative AI responsibly.

Aras Bozkurt
As the lead representative for Anadolu University, Aras provides the primary strategic direction and oversight for the project. He is responsible for aligning the university's contributions with the project's overarching goals and ensuring academic and operational excellence.
Hasan Uçar
Hasan serves as the central hub for project coordination. He manages the logistical framework, facilitates communication between stakeholders, and organizes the essential workflows that keep the Anadolu University team on track and high-performing.

Marco Breda
Marco Breda is Director of the University AI Laboratory at UNINETTUNO and Contract Professor of Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence in its Faculty of Engineering. Previously, he founded and led the Advanced Analytics & AI division at Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, and worked at Ericsson and TIM. Since 1997, he has been an Associate Researcher
at the Semeion Research Center in the field of Machine Learning and AI, with over thirty international publications to his credit. He graduated with honors in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome.
Arianna Pallante
As Project Administrator for UNINETTUNO within the ETHICAI project, Arianna Pallante is responsible for the administrative and financial management of the institution’s activities. She oversees budget monitoring, reporting, and compliance with Erasmus+ requirements, ensuring the efficient implementation of UNINETTUNO’s contributions and alignment with project objectives.
Knowledge Innovation Centre (KIC)

Anthony F. Camilleri
Antony is a Senior Partner at & Co-founder of the Knowledge Innovation Centre. He has over 15 years of experience in digital education policy, quality assurance, and micro-credentials, and is a key architect of the European Digital Credential Infrastructure. In ETHICAI, he leads KIC's central role as Work Package 4 lead, overseeing the development of the ETHICAI Digital Toolkit, a modular, open-access platform that brings together the project's competence frameworks, self-assessment tools, policy templates, and AI-powered navigation to support educators, students, and institutional leaders across Europe. He also leads the strategic co-design and validation of the toolkit with public education authorities, ensuring it is aligned with national strategies, the EU AI Act, and European quality assurance standards.
Stefan Jahnke
Stefan is the Head of Programmes at the Knowledge Innovation Centre. He brings over a decade of experience bridging education, technology, and European policy, rooted in his early leadership of the Erasmus Student Network and subsequent work in higher education digital policy. As Head of Programmes at KIC, he is part of KIC's senior management and oversees the organisation's project portfolio. In ETHICAI, Stefan manages KIC's day-to-day project contribution and drives the research and stakeholder engagement work within WP4, including the validation of the toolkit with institutional partners and the integration of the GenAI Readiness Index into a practical, policy-relevant instrument that European higher education institutions can act on.

Michalis Farazis
Inspector of Informatics and Computer Science in Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, Cyprus. Michalis has 5 years of experience as an Inspector, 19 years as a teacher in Secondary Education, and 11 years as a teacher in Higher Education. Within the ETHICAI project, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (MESY) participates as a beneficiary partner. Specifically, MESY is involved in all work packages, with a primary role in aligning GenAI applications with national curricula and quality assurance systems. The Ministry will provide
feedback on the GenAI Readiness Index and certification schemes, and will participate in stakeholder consultation workshops.
Maria Mikallou
Computer Science Teacher and Consultant in Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, Cyprus. Maria has 22 years of experience as a teacher, supporting both students and educators. Through its involvement, MESY ensures that the project outputs are grounded in real policy needs and are compatible with national regulations and digital education reforms. It will also support dissemination through its official channels and coordinate with quality assurance bodies to facilitate uptake across Cyprus.
