ABOUT THE PROJECT

GenAI is already reshaping European universities -

 ETHICAI ensures it happens responsibly.

Three of the ways we are making it happen:

Ethics & Pedagogy Framework

A validated, evidence-based framework capturing ethical and pedagogical principles for GenAI use - from classroom practice to institutional policy.

AI Learning Labs

Real-course pilots across 7 European universities, reaching over 7,000 students and 350 staff to test GenAI tools in authentic teaching environments.

Staff & Student Readiness

Certified microcredentials and tailored training modules to build AI literacy and digital competence for both educators and learners.

WHY ETHICAI MATTERS

From innovation

to responsibility.

Generative AI is already part of higher education, supporting writing, research, coding, and course preparation. But its rapid adoption raises important questions for universities.

⮕ How can AI be used ethically in teaching and assessment?
⮕ How can institutions ensure transparency and academic integrity?

⮕ What skills do educators and students need to work responsibly with AI?
⮕ How can universities adopt AI while promoting inclusion and equity?

ETHICAI addresses these questions by developing evidence-based guidance, practical tools, and competence frameworks supporting universities in navigating the opportunities and risks of GenAI.
